CONCERTS
Radiohead (@ Hollywood Bowl) gets the godhead award.
Kings of Leon (@ Nokia Theatre) is rapidly growing into the best rock & roll band on the planet, period.
Mudcrutch (@ the Tropubadour) set off a rollicking blast from the past.
Beck (@ Club Nokia) fused phat beats and arena-rock riffage.
Ray LaMontagne (@ the Wiltern) proved you don't have to be loud to be heavy (to borrow Tom Morello’s line).
Plant/Krauss (@ Santa Barbara County Bowl), I imagine, but there was a ticket snafu, so I can’t say for sure.

What on earth is it that you hear in the Kings Of Leon? I've played the thing countless times since I got it in September, and I still don't remember a song on it with the exception of "Sex On Fire." Unbelievably mediocre band, in my opinion. I don't hate them by any stretch, but you write of them as they're an exciting and important band, and I can't help but think that they're bordering on vacuous. Good looking guys though.
